Step-by-Step Application Guide for Uni-assist

Create an Account on Uni-assist

Create an account on the Uni Assist website using your email address. Check your email after registration for a confirmation email. Activate your account and log in to the uni-assist portal.

Select Your University Program

Use the Study Finder tool to search for universities and study programs before adding them.

 Upload Your Documents

Here are some of the necessary documents:

• A CV or resume 

• Proof of language proficiency 

• Academic transcripts and certificates (translated and certified copies if required)

• Passport copy

• Any program-specific requirements (e.g., motivation letter, portfolio, etc.)

Pay the Application Fee

With the Pay4Me App, you can pay your Uni-assist fees.

How Long Does Uni Assist take to process an Application?

The processing time for uni-assist can take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks.

Important Deadlines:

• Summer Semester: Deadlines usually fall between December and January.

• Winter Semester: Deadlines typically fall between June and July.

What is a Vorprüfungsdokumentation (VPD)?

The Vorprüfungsdokumentation (VPD) is a certificate issued by uni-assist that confirms that you met the requirements to study in Germany. When you apply for schools through uni-assist, you will receive a VPD certificate, which you forward directly to the university.

Who needs a VPD?

 The VPD is required by universities that don't use uni-assist for their entire application process, but still need to verify your qualifications. Also, it is necessary because:

• Some universities mandate a VPD as part of their application process for applicants who are members of uni-assist but handle their own admissions.

• If a university is not a member of uni-assist, it may still require a VPD to verify the authenticity and equivalence of your international documents. 

• If you’re applying directly to a university (not through uni-assist).

• If you’re applying to multiple universities.

What does the VPD include?

1. Verification of academic documents (transcripts, diplomas, certificates).

2. A grade conversion to the German grading system.

3. Confirmation of eligibility for specific degree programs in Germany.

Who can provide a VPD?

The VPD can only be issued by uni-assist.

What do you do with a VPD?

What Happens if You Don’t Meet the Requirements for a VPD?
