The United Kingdom has increased its tourist and student visa fees. The changes mean that the cost of a visit visa for less than six months is rising by £15 to £115, while the fee for applying for a student visa from outside the UK will rise by £127 to £490, to equal the amount charged for in-country applications.
Increases in immigration and nationality fees are set to come into effect on 4 October, 2023.
The new changes include:
- Fees for up to 6 months, 2, 5 and 10 year visit visas.
- The majority of fees for entry clearance and certain applications for leave to remain in the UK, including those for work and study.
- Fees for indefinite leave to enter and indefinite leave to remain.
- Convention travel document and stateless person’s travel document.
- Health and Care visa.
- Fees concerning certificates of sponsorship and confirmation of acceptance for studies.
- The in and out-of-country fee for the super-priority service and the out-of-country fee for the priority service. The settlement priority service will be reduced to align with the priority service's cost.
- Applications to Register and Naturalise as a British Citizen.
- The fee for the User Pays Visa Application service.
UK Opens Temporary Visa Submission Centre In Enugu
The UK Mission has announced that a new visa submission facility will operate in Enugu and will offer a twice-a-week service shortly.
The facility will operate out of the Omedel Luxury Hotel, 4/6 Link Road, off Pascal and Jerk Bustop, Independence Layout, Enugu. In addition, the UK Mission announced a new visa application center in Port Harcourt, at Présidential hôtel, 5141 Aba Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
"The appointment system allows applicants to select Enugu as their application location when applying for a UK Visa. This is in addition to current locations in Abuja. Lagos and Port Harcourt," the statement read.
"The temporary submission center in Enugu opens as a Premium Location, meaning it will cost NGN246,250.00, which includes a Premium Lounge appointment, courier return, SMS notifications, general customer support, and guidance.
