Do you know you can pay for your SEVIS Fee with Pay4Me?

Prospective F and M students coming to the United States of America are expected to pay the I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Fee. They cannot get their visas from the U.S. Department of State to travel to the United States if they do not pay this fee.

Who are F and M students?

International students who wish to study in the United States can be either F or M students. The student visa depends on the type of school you want to attend and your course of study.

School to Attend | Visa category:
University or college | F
High School
Private elementary school
Seminary
Conservatory
Another academic institution, including a language training program
Vocational or other recognized nonacademic institution, other than a language training program | M

The United States has special instructions for international students coming from or born in Gambia, Cameroon, Kenya, Ghana, and Nigeria. These students cannot make use of their credit cards to pay for their I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor fee.

However, they can make use of authorized payment options include Western Union Quick Pay, Pay4Me app, check, or money order. What this means is that a third party that wants to submit the payment on behalf of any student from these countries should take advantage of these payment options.

SEVP is not affiliated with SEVIS Express, which is a website that collects I-901 SEVIS Fee payments from students in Kenya, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Ghana. In this post, we have listed how you can make an instant SEVIS 1-901 fee in Nigeria.

SEVIS means the acronym for Student and Exchange Visitor Information System. SEVIS was established in 2004.  The U.S. Congress mandated SEVIS for international students coming to the US.  SEVIS takes care of the student and exchange visitor program (SEVP). Do not mistake this fee for your visa fee.

Why Must You Pay for SEVIS 1-901?

SEVIS work to make sure that program sponsors and schools transfer event notification, including students’ personal information to DOS and the department of Homeland Security (DHS). These departments get notifications of international students throughout their studies in the United States.

You make this payment with Pay4Me before you can go for your visa interview.  You go with your SEVIS receipt for your visa. It does not end here. You have to travel along with your SEVIS 1-901 receipt when relocating to the country. In some situations, some program sponsors make this fee as part of their program fees.

Before you go for your scheduled visa interval, you must have paid this fee at least three days earlier. However, some students do not have to make this payment. If a student wants to transfer to a fresh J sponsor, is a J-2 dependent, or has J-1 immigration status, you do not have to make payment to SEVIS.  Students who want a fresh J-1 visa are expected to pay for the SEVIS 1-901.

People coming to the United States as exchange visitors must make this payment.  Students in a Federal government-sponsored program with program numbers G-1, G-2, G-3 or G-7, do not have to make a SEVIS payment. An applicant or a third party living in or outside the country can pay this fee.

You must ensure that you type your name correctly and exactly as it appears on your SEVIS Form DS-2019.  Each section must be completed accurately.
