Where to Register for CELPIP?

There are two ways to register for CELPIP in Nigeria.

  • First, you can register online through the official CELPIP website, www.celpip.ca. This is the most common method of registration. It’s pretty convenient and can be done at any time from anywhere.

  • The second option is to register at a test center. In Nigeria, the Dragnet Prometric Test Center, Lagos, is the only place to register. This option is recommended if you have questions about the exam and need guidance. You can ask your questions directly during in-person registration.

While we encourage you to choose the option that works best for you, bear in mind that early registration is vital in getting your preferred test date.

To register for the CELPIP exam online, here’s how:

1. Visit www.celpip.ca. Navigate to the “register now” option and begin your registration.

2. On the CELPIP website, choose a test center location from available locations in Nigeria. CELPIP tests are usually held in major cities like Lagos and Abuja, so check the closest options.

3. After you’ve identified a nearby test center, select your preferred exam date. Make sure to book early to secure your spot.

4. Complete the online registration form with accurate personal details to avoid issues on test day.

5. Pay the exam fee online using Pay4Me. Pay4Me is a trusted payment platform for paying the CELPIP test fee. On downloading the app, create an account and initiate your payment. Once payment is completed, you’ll receive a confirmation email immediately.

6. After completing your registration and payment, you will receive yet another confirmation email with your test details. Keep this email for reference and further instructions.

These steps ensure you easily register for the CELPIP exam online without stress.

Where to Take CELPIP in Nigeria?

You can take the CELPIP exam at the Dragnet Prometric Test Center, Katia Gardens, Plot 1676, 3rd Floor Oladele Olashore Street, Off Sanusi Fafunwa Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. This is the only approved center to take the test right now.

How Much Does the CELPIP Exam Cost in Nigeria?

The CELPIP exam in Nigeria costs ₦220,000, including tax where applicable. This price covers for both the General and General LS tests.

Can I Take CELPIP Online at Home?

While some English tests allow home testing, CELPIP doesn’t. CELPIP only offers in-person exams conducted at its official centers. This is to ensure fairness and maximum security during the exam. Therefore, the exam must be taken at a Dragnet Prometric Test Center. There is a chance this might change in the future, but for now, you'll need to go to a test center.

How Long Do CELPIP Results Take?

CELPIP results are available in 4 to 5 business days. This is much quicker than most tests that take weeks. Although timing can vary slightly, it's rarely longer than a week. You'll get an email when your results are out, and you can log into your CELPIP account to see them online. Most test-takers prefer CELLIP because of the speed of results. Plus, It allows for swift application processes. If you're in a hurry to apply for immigration or a job, we recommend you take this test.

What Is the Passing Score for CELPIP?

The CELPIP exam does not have a fixed “passing” score, considering it assesses your English language proficiency on a scale. However, passing scores can vary depending on what test you need. CELPIP uses a 12-point scale for each skill.

For example, Express Entry often requires at least 7 in each skill. Some provincial programs accept lower scores. Universities set their own requirements, which can range from 7 to 10, depending on the program. Employers also have varied scores. It's best to check the requirements of the school or program you want to join.

The Minimum CELPIP Score Required for Canada PR

To qualify for Canadian permanent residency, you need a minimum CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) of 4 for each language skill (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).

CELPIP scores are converted into CLB levels. So, make sure your CELPIP score equals or exceeds CLB 4 in all four skills.
