1.    Nigerian applicants who want 32-page passports with five-year validity would pay N35,000

2.    Applicants who want 64-page passports with a 10-year validity would pay N70,000.

3.    Foreign applicants applying for passports with a five-year validity period and 32 pages will pay $130.

4.    Foreign applicants applying for passports with a 10-year validity period and 64 pages will pay $230.

How much does it cost to get an international passport in Nigeria?

For Nigerians

N35,000 for 32 pages (Five-year validity)

N70,000 for 64 pages (10-year validity)

Diaspora application

$130 for 32 pages (Five-year validity)

$230 for 64 pages (10-year validity)

Here are steps to apply for an automated passport

 1. Visit the online application portal http://passport.immigration.gov.ng.

2. Click on “Apply for Fresh Passport” (for new applicants)

Step 1

a)    Visit the Nigeria Immigration Service website https://passport.immigration.gov.ng/

b)    Enter your National Identification Number (NIN) to auto-fill your data from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

Step 2

Ensure you complete the relevant data fields.

Step 3

You should upload a photograph and other supporting documents.

Step 4

Visit an immigration office for your biometric capture.

Step 5

Passport collection happens within two weeks.

2. Old passport number

3. A passport photograph that meets ICAO standards

4. Supporting documents like birth certificates and local government certificates of indigeneship, etc.
