The CELPIP exam does not have a fixed “passing” score, considering it assesses your English language proficiency on a scale. However, passing scores can vary depending on what test you need. CELPIP uses a 12-point scale for each skill.
For example, Express Entry often requires at least 7 in each skill. Some provincial programs accept lower scores. Universities set their own requirements, which can range from 7 to 10, depending on the program. Employers also have varied scores. It's best to check the requirements of the school or program you want to join.
The Minimum CELPIP Score Required for Canada PR
To qualify for Canadian permanent residency, you need a minimum CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) of 4 for each language skill (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
CELPIP scores are converted into CLB levels. So, make sure your CELPIP score equals or exceeds CLB 4 in all four skills.
